Everything old is new again in the latest Xbox controller

We’ve had green Xbox controllers in the past, but as well as being the colour green, the latest one has serious environmentally green credentials.
One-third of the new Remix Special Edition controller is comprised of recycled plastics, which could be anything from old Xbox One controller bits to reclaimed CDs.
As such, each one may be slightly different in its patchwork of earthy tones in the way of swirls, texture, and markings.

It’s all part of an exploration by Xbox into ways of using less plastic in what is a very plastic-reliant market.
To further the Remix Special Edition’s green cred, the unit also comes packed with the must-have Xbox Rechargeable Battery Pack, which we reckon every Xboxer should own. It offers around 30 hours of play from a single charge, and if you do run out in the heat of battle, you can plug the included USB-C cable in and charge as you play.
