5 nommy Burger Day movie treats

Burgers are so awesome that they get their own day of the year - today! Here are five of the greatest burger moments in movies. Apologies if we give you the munchies...

The Simpsons Movie (2007)

Krusty the Clown is basically the only member of his profession in the entire world that we can abide. This is possibly weird, considering just how few hoots he gives about our health, as he pushes menu items like ‘The Clogger’. Actually, that’s probably why we just love him so much. Hey, hey!

Clerks 2 (2006)

After a small but perfectly fiery incident at the Quick Stop, Dante and Randal land on their feet. Well, they get jobs at the local burger joint Mooby’s. Naturally, Jay and Silent Bob – now clean-living, born-again Christians - change their hangout accordingly. But they still deal in illicit substances, of course.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015)

That big old nasty pirate Burger Beard (Antonio Banderas) has gone and stolen the recipe for Krabby Patties! This leads an incensed (and totally buff) SpongeBob and his posse to shout, “Land ho!”, getting their 3D on in our real world to shut down Burger Beard’s Beard Burgers – and Burger Beard himself.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)

“Burger rain, Burger rain...” Get your Prince on, and that’ll make sense. Anyway, when Flint Lockwood (voiced by Bill Hader) finally creates a breakthrough invention – the FLDSMDFR - which makes the heavens send scrummy burgers and other comestibles, the sardine-weary Swallow Falls population rejoices. For a while...

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Seriously, like we’d forget Big Kahuna Burger?! As well as Sammy L.’s Pulp endorsement, Quentin Tarantino’s favourite purveyors of bun/meat collisions have also appeared in Reservoir Dogs, Death Proof, Four Rooms, and From Dusk Till Dawn (as well as the non-QT Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion).
