Poor Things to follow The Lobster and The Favourite

Get ready to take in another slice of the intriguing mind of director Yorgos Lanthimos in the form of forthcoming movie 'Poor Things'.

A new peek at the wild-looking big screen outing, which stars Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Margaret Qualley, Jerrod Carmichael, and Christopher Abbott, has just arrived.

An adaptation of Alasdair Gray's novel of the same name, Poor Things is an intriguing-looking movie, the story for which goes like this: “The incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Dafoe).

“Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.”

Poor Things has been getting raves from those who’ve seen it and is set to receive an Australian cinematic release from Boxing Day (December 26). Here’s a new taste via an overseas trailer (so please ignore any dates that are shown):
