The new TMNT movie is turtle Mutant Mayhem!
The heroes in a half shell are set to return to big screens everywhere via the new animated movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Seth Rogen is the producer person behind this modern set – we get gags about stuff that happened long after the quartet originally hit our smaller screens – rebooted take on the classic story of four turtles and the effects of ooze upon them.
Here’s the full enchilada story-wise: “After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
There are some serious names in the voice cast, including Paul Rudd, Giancarlo Esposito, Rose Byrne, John Cena, Jackie Chan (as Master Splinter, of course), Ice Cube, Maya Rudolph, and Post Malone – oh, and Seth Rogen, of course! Meanwhile, Raphael, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello are voiced by Brady Noon, Nicolas Cantu, Shamon Brown Jr., and Micah Abbey, respectively.
Looking magnificent – cues appear to have been taken from the ground-breaking Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - it’s all been co-directed by Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears, both of whom worked in various ways on the brilliant animated feature The Mitchells vs the Machines.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is currently down for a September 7 Australian cinema release. Check out the Turtley awesome teaser trailer:
