Bliss n Eso take us to the light side of the moon

After visiting The Sun with their 2021 album, Sydney trio Bliss n Eso venture to The Moon for their eighth studio album, their first in four years.

“We can never fall into just doing something simple,” laughs Eso (real name Max MacKinnon). “I think the moon is a pretty mysterious and crazy thing. I’m at the point right now where I’m not even sure if it’s real, or if it’s a base station that’s been sent over from Jupiter!

“We always tend to try to have those epic moments to bring you into the album.”

Just check out the opening cut, The New Frontier. And there’s also an out-of-this-world cover of The Rubens’ Hoops.

The Moon (The Light Side) features a stellar array of guests, including Benny Morrell, Masked Wolf, 360, and US rapper Futuristic.

And Party on the Moon reworks Gang Starr’s ’90s classic Full Clip – with a little help from DJ Premier.

The Moon (The Light Side) by Bliss n Eso is out April 11 via Mushroom.
