The historically irrepressible three-piece have released a beaut new track, but it ain't in the vein of the usual material...
The last time we heard from Dunies was three months ago with Be Like You, a raucous little single from the surf-punk-rock trio which, as yet, doesn't have an album home... and that means we're extra excited to see Solar Eyes because it means we're getting closer to that album home!
This brand new track opens out with a happy-go-lucky rhythm and whistling details we recognise from the guys' catalogue, but it doesn't take long for us to realise that the song is a little bit about not wanting to get out of bed in the morning - and perhaps beyond, into the realms of mental health where the doldrums turn into real depression.
We're impressed that the Brissie guys decided to write something that wasn't all lollipops and Scott Green - and it sounds like the band are proud of themselves, too. The song arrived with just a couple of lines by way of a press release:
We wrote a song.
We like it.
We are putting it out.
