You can take the Costner out of ‘Yellowstone’, but you can’t get him off his horse, as he’s back in both the onscreen saddle and offscreen director’s chair for the forthcoming two-part movie spectacular ‘Horizon: An American Saga’.
The first chapter is currently set to hit cinemas in June of 2024, with the second hitting soon after in August of 2024, and marks the first return to the director’s saddle for Costner in some 20 years, with his last feature being Open Range.
Here’s the official word from Warner Bros.: “In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic westerns, Horizon: An American Saga explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won—and lost—through the blood, sweat and tears of many. Spanning the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America.”
While we await further details, a brief teaser featuring all of the things many will want of Costner – the man himself, a moustache, a hat, a horse, and a rifle – has been released, and here it is:
