Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Some big albums are heading our way

Jeff Jenkins

STACK Writer

New release 'The Deluge' is an apt title for the first album from Fanning Dempsey National Park, as it heralds an avalanche of Aussie albums. After cheering on our homegrown heroes in Paris, it’s time to get behind some big local releases.

We have to say, it’s been a slow start for Aussie artists on this year’s ARIA chart – we had to wait until August to see a local album hit number one (Lime Cordiale’s Enough of the Sweet Talk).

But it won’t be our last local chart-topper for 2024, with all of these big albums coming soon:

Grinspoon – whatever, whatever

The Grinners are getting set to release their first new album in 12 years. Fun fact: They’ve had eight Top 10 albums, but never had a chart-topper. Could this be their first? Out August 9
