Do the newly-reunited blink-182 make their peace on 'One More Time'?

Co-founding member Tom DeLonge is back in the fold of Blink; here's how his return has affected the beloved pop-punk act's ninth album.
Maybe one of the most anticipated records in recent memory One More Time... is a staunch reminder that blink-182 are, and always will be, the pop punk band. From their major label debut of Dude Ranch in 1997 to this, their ninth studio outing, the trio are responsible for more hits than wordcount will allow.
With One More Time..., the Californians have penned a true love letter to their roots. When Tom DeLonge’s iconic drawl cuts in, we understand the band no longer has a phantom limb.
(Co-founder Delonge has been absent from blink's line-up since 2015, his position filled by Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba for two albums: 2016's California and 2019's Nine.)
Silly lyricism, shotgun drum work from Travis Barker, and an all-important sense of fun abound, but the trio's knack for a nostalgic ballad is well-repped, too (just take a listen to the title track!). Terrified is a clear standout, a short, sharp, slap-in-the-face tune that conjures joy from its very first notes. One More Time... is the album every Blink fan has fantasised about for more than a decade.
A record which easily rockets into the wheelhouse of the best they’ve ever made, One More Time... pulsates affection from (and to) a band that defined a generation – and will resonate with more to come. Because just as my mum did with me, you can bet I'll eventually be introducing my own children to the wonderful world of Blink.
