Why we're fangin' for Olivia Rodrigo's vicious new single 'Vampire'

The very first slice of Olivia Rodrigo's new album 'GUTS' has arrived, and we're obsessed.
Can you believe it's been two-and-a-half years since drivers license was released?
In the time since that first single arrived, Rodrigo dropped her debut album SOUR which obviously went berserk on the charts (and is still in the ARIA Top 30 after two years), and then went ahead and won three Grammys, a BRIT, and a Juno Award.
Good job, top work, you've earned your retirement, Livvy!
But, no: here comes Vampire, the first single from the artist's second album GUTS. What begins as a tortured piano ballad shifts gears as Olivia spits rather than wails her pain at an ex: "You sold me for parts, you sunk your teeth into me."
She also points to the fact that this vampire sought out a much younger victim because an inexperienced person is more likely to accept bad behaviour: "Girls your age know better."
Here's what Rodrigo has to say about the upcoming album:
“I feel like I grew ten years between the ages of 18 and 20. It was such an intense period of awkwardness and change. I think that’s all just a natural part of growth, and hopefully the album reflects that.”
Well, we can't wait. Go and watch Vampire here (language warning), and get your mitts on GUTS pre-orders below.
GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo drops via Universal.
